The Electronic Technology associate degree prepares you for employment in the broad field of electronics. Emphasis is placed on electronic systems troubleshooting, integration of computer technologies, and field applications. Choose from two areas of emphasis. Coursework in communications focuses on the maintenance of broadcast television and radio, cable television, wireless, and telephony/telecommunication systems. With an electronic communications background, typical job opportunities include TV broadcast engineer, sound systems technician, video equipment technician, and telecommunication technician. Courses in industrial controls and automation focus on the equipment and systems that use electronic control systems for stand-alone machines or integrated systems. Graduates may obtain entry-level positions that support electrical engineers in the installation and testing of electronic systems and their associated controls.
