Sending E-mail
- You will need to create a "Sent E-mail" folder. Refer to the video if you are not sure how to do this.
- Be sure to save a copy of all homework sent to avoid having to redo any work that was sent and not received by your instructor.
- You can use the "CC" (carbon copy) option and put your E-mail address on this line. This will send a copy of the E-mail to yourself.
- The "BCC" option will keep the recipient's name hidden if you choose to send a copy to someone privately.

Replying To E-mail
- It is best to have two browsers open while replying to homework.
- This way you can have your class open in one browser and your E-mail open in the other browser.
- When replying to a message, be sure to use the reply option instead of beginning a new message. Replying leaves the text of what was sent to you in your return message.

Attaching Documents
- Some classes may require attachments, others will ask that you do not send attachments due to the risk of transmitting a virus. Refer to your syllabus for this information.
- The paper clip icon on the tool bar is used for attaching documents. Use the "Help" feature to learn more about this feature if being used in your course.

Forwarding E-mail
- If you are currently using a student account such as yourname@matc.edu, you can forward all the e-mail to your new account yourname@email.matc.edu.
- You can also forward your MATC e-mail to an outside account such as Yahoo, AOL, Roadrunner, etc.

E-mail Etiquette
- Be sure not to type your message in ALL CAPS. This comes across to the reader as if you are shouting.
- Do not type anything in an e-mail message that you would not say out loud to a room full of people.
- Despite the seeming harmlessness of e-mail, it is not really private.
- Assume that any e-mail you send will be read by people other than its intended recipients.
