MATC offers two Aviation Technician programs, one for airframe and one for powerplant maintenance and repair. Completion of both Aviation Technician technical programs is recommended to enhance employment potential. Airframe coursework instructs you in repairing the structure or framework of aircraft. You are required to attend a minimum of 400 hours of the General Aviation Technician component (offered every fall semester) prior to enrolling in either technical diploma program. The job outlook for aviation technicians has expanded throughout the country. Core skills include a background in mathematics and the physical sciences, high mechanical aptitude, the ability to pay attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under stress.
