There is a steady demand for heating-ventilation-air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and trained technicians to operate and maintain them. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology is an associate degree program that meets the need for technically trained HVAC personnel in equipment installation, maintenance and servicing. The program provides the necessary background in mathematics, drafting, electricity and thermodynamics. Graduates of this program often obtain work as sales representatives, air conditioning technicians, refrigeration technicians and system design technicians. Core skills include mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and the ability to analyze equipment operation.
