What is the Business Management associate degree program?
The Business Management associate degree program prepares you for a career as a management trainee or operations assistant. The training is designed to give you a broad background of business knowledge. Graduates find employment in a wide cross-section of businesses. Typical positions include management trainee and supervisor trainee. The program is also useful if you are seeking a job change or advancement, or wish to be self-employed.  Core skills include effective communications, critical thinking, utilizing technology, and the ability to apply management knowledge in decision-making situations.

How do I prepare for admission to the Business Management Program?
The following are required for admission to the program:

- A high school diploma or GED
- Demonstration of proficiency in basic skills through a course placement assessment


Will MATC accept credits from other colleges for this program?

Yes. Credits will be evaluated and accepted against program

Will my credits transfer to a four-year college?
Many colleges will accept credits from this program. The specific courses are determined by the accepting four-year college. MATC has articulation agreements with many local colleges and universities. For updated course transfer information, check the MATC Credit Transfer and Articulation Agreements page.

How qualified are the teachers?

All of the instructors combine actual business experience with an advanced academic degree. This combination brings hands-on experience and theory together in the Business Management learning environment.

What type of jobs can I get with this degree?
Sample job titles include management trainee/assistant manager, production/operating specialist, front-line supervisor, personal bankers, financial manager, account coordinator, team leader and entrepreneur.

When do the classes start?

Where are the classes offered?
MATC offers the Business Management associate degree at all four campuses: Downtown Milwaukee, Mequon, Oak Creek and West Allis.


How are the classes offered?

You can earn your degree in Business Management by taking courses during the day, evenings, online or in accelerated mode.


How many weeks are the classes?

Classes run for 16 weeks.

What is the Business Management application process?
Enter the associate degree program through the MATC Admissions process.

How do I know which classes to take?
If you are already registered at MATC, you can access your individualized program plan through INFOnline: http://infonline.matc.edu  If you are not a registered student, see the list of required courses at either of these two links: Business Management - Career Track or Business Management - Transfer Track. The transfer track option is for students who intend to transfer their MATC credits to a four-year college or university.

Where can I find a current or next semester course schedule?


Course schedules are available online and in printed form. The current schedule is available online at INFOnline at http://infonline.matc.edu  as well as in pdf form here. Printed schedules are available at all MATC campuses and Milwaukee public libraries.


How and when can I purchase books?

Each campus’ bookstore stocks books and supplies for classes held at that particular campus. You can also order your books online through the MATC Bookstore . Before you buy textbooks, note your course identification code. Every class has a letter and number identification. For example, the three-credit Business Organization and Management course is identified as BADM-134. These codes are listed on your personal class schedule, on INFOnline and in the printed class schedules. You will need these codes to buy textbooks.

What types of financial aid are available?
Financial aid consists of grants, scholarships, loans and work study.

Grants and scholarships are donated through the generosity of businesses, corporations and individuals, and are not repaid. For most grants and scholarships, students must be enrolled in an associate degree or technical diploma program and maintain a good grade-point average.

Student loans need to be repaid with interest. Students are counseled by MATC Financial Aid staff about loan guidelines and repayments.

How do I apply for financial aid?

See the Financial Aid section of matc.edu or the Free Application for Federal Student Aid site at
www.fafsa.ed.gov. It is best to apply as early as possible for financial aid. MATC's federal school code for processing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is 003866.
