Overview — This program is an ideal choice for individuals who are challenged by the opportunities of a global virtual economy, who embrace change, and are intrigued by technology. 

Blending the contents of two instructional departments (business and interactive media), it prepares students for a variety of positions in ecommerce, as well as in marketing, web development, order fulfillment, customer service and social media planning. 

Success in the program will be improved with proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with internet communications. Students must complete a one-semester internship or personal portfolio for graduation. 


Online Option — All courses are available online; on-campus testing may be required.


Career Pathway — You can earn the eBusiness Strategist and Social Media Strategist technical diplomas on your way to completing this associate degree. Contact an MATC advisor for information.


Career Outlook — The rapid growth of internet-enabled devices has led to an increased demand for skills in web marketing, social media marketing and web development.

Preparation for Admission — The following are required for admission to the program:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstration of basic skills through a course placement assessment
  • Typing skills are highly recommended
