Campus Crime Alert - April 13, 2010

Over the past two weeks, there have been an increased number of thefts at the Milwaukee Campus 6th & Wells Street parking structure. The incidents involve vehicle registration decals being removed from vehicles parked in the structure. We have had no reports of theft from persons or entry into vehicles and do not believe these incidents pose an immediate threat to those who park in the structure.

The Department of Public Safety is working closely with local law enforcement to both prevent the incidents and to apprehend a suspect. Police and Public Safety patrols have been increased in the structure and surrounding area. We encourage all members of the MATC community to report any suspicious activity to the Department of Public Safety at (414) 297-6200 as soon as possible.

Campus Crime Alert - Feb. 2, 2010

During the fall semester of 2009, MATC experienced a series of thefts from offices at the Milwaukee and West Allis campuses. In an effort to minimize thefts on campus, the Department of Public Safety encourages all students, faculty and staff to secure their personal belongings, never leaving them unattended. Remember to lock your offices, classrooms and lockers!

Last week, the Department of Public Safety was alerted by the Milwaukee Police concerning two (2) individuals who were recently released from their custody after an arrest for thefts in the downtown Milwaukee area.

These subjects were seen on camera off campus using a stolen credit card. These individuals are described as two (2) black males that are known to frequent MATC campuses. We have no additional information at this time, however, the Department of Public Safety continues to work with local authorities to keep our MATC Campus Community a safe place. Therefore, we are encouraging everyone to report any suspicious activities to MATC Public Safety at (414) 297-6200 or contact Milwaukee Police Department at (414) 933-4444.
