Milwaukee Area Technical College will hold four free summer camps for sixth through tenth graders in August:
Space remains in the following camps.
“Makers Camp” will be held from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, Aug. 6-9, at the MATC Oak Creek Campus, 6665 S. Howell Ave. This camp features opportunities to create bread boards, cutting boards, metal trays or a metal rose.
“Science Camp” will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Monday-Thursday, Aug. 13-16, at the MATC Downtown Milwaukee Campus, 700 W. State St. Students will build microscopes they can keep and explore diseases and DNA, while solving a crime using lab techniques like “CSI” crime scene investigators.
Funded by a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, the camps feature hands-on learning opportunities taught by MATC instructors.
