Milwaukee Area Technical College's School of Technology and Applied Sciences Dean Dorothy Walker and Associate Dean Al Luna led Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett and Milwaukee Alderman and MATC District Board member José Pérez on a tour of the MATC Education Center at Walker’s Square Thursday, May 29.

Located at 816 West National Avenue in the historic Walker's Point neighborhood, the MATC Education Center at Walker's Square is a former small-business incubator. MATC purchased the three-story, 130,000-square-foot building in 1990. The center offers the Appliance Technician, Bricklaying and Masonry, and Preparatory Plumbing technical diploma programs in renovated lab spaces. Construction is underway at the center to accommodate more students and programs, including English as a Second Language.
