Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Southeast Wisconsin Hosted Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge® Sept. 12-13 at MATC Oak Creek Campus to Benefit Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center
Dan Druml and Meg Boyle, co-owners of Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling of Southeast and Fox Valley Wisconsin, hosted the renowned Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge® Friday, Sept. 12 and Saturday, Sept. 13. The two day event was held at the Milwaukee Area Technical College Oak Creek Campus, 6665 S. Howell Ave., and served as a fundraiser for the Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center.
More than 100 local, regional and nationwide firefighting professionals competed for top rankings in various divisions to qualify for the worldwide competition on Nov. 3-9 in Phoenix, AZ. And, more than 40 of the registered participants were from southeast Wisconsin. Competitors raced head to head on a course that simulates the rigors of a firefighter’s duties and demonstrates the top physical condition required of the men and women who dedicate their careers safeguarding, protecting and saving lives.
In addition to the firefighter competitions, the event offered family friendly activities, including a mini-children’s challenge.
As the recipient of the event proceeds, Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center serves as the destination for burn care throughout Wisconsin, upper Michigan and northern Illinois. The Center is located at 2301 N. Lake Dr. in Milwaukee and is certified by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. “We have selected Columbia St. Mary’s Regional Burn Center as our 2014 Paul Davis Charitable Fund beneficiary. With the Firefighter Combat Challenge and other local functions, we’ll raise much needed funds for a worthy healthcare organization,” said Boyle. “Plus, hosting firefighters during an exciting event in Milwaukee is an honor for us,” she said.
