TV and Video Production Students Win Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Student Awards for Excellence

At the annual Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) Student Seminar, held March 3 in Madison, several Milwaukee Area Technical College Television and Video Production students earned a WBA Student Award for Excellence.

Phil Kraus, Nate Schardin, Jake Fatke, Andy Iik and Tony Cole were recognized in the Long Form Production Non-News (TV) category for "Our Clear Responsibility."

Schardin and Kraus picked up third place in the same category for "MATC's Firefighting Technician Program."

In the News Series/Documentary division, Schardin, Fatke, Kraus and Cole captured first place for "Perseverance: Climbing the Flatlands."

Schardin, Fatke and Kraus claimed thrid place in that category for "Landscape Pioneer: H.H. Bennett."

Additionally, "Panthervision," the long-running cooperative newscast with the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, won several awards in the News category.
