Start a Four-Year Degree at MATC!
Through the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences you can get a head start on your four-year degree while earning an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science. These programs are designed for students who plan to continue their education and are composed of general education courses (English, math, sciences, humanities) that make up the foundation of many degrees.
Graduates can benefit from more than 200 program-to-program partnerships with four-year colleges. These include the University of Wisconsin System and 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country.
You may transfer as many as 72 MATC general studies credits, allowing you to focus on your major and complete a bachelor's degree in as few as two additional years.
Earn an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in one of our rewarding occupational programs, designed to prepare you for employment immediately following graduation. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience and build key relationships in your field through internships or practicums. Many courses incorporate engaged and service learning experiences that apply classroom knowledge to community service-based projects or settings. Graduates of A.A.S. programs also have many four-year transfer options. Your faculty advisor will work closely with you to help you transition toward your education and career goals.
LAS certificate programs are designed to be completed in one year and offer possibilities for those seeking a short-term educational goal, a supplement to a program or enhanced knowledge.
The AODA Substance Abuse Counselor certificate program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services as meeting the 360 education hours necessary toward state certification as a substance abuse counselor.
If you are a non-program student interested in taking courses to transfer back to your primary school or simply for personal enrichment, the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a multitude of transferable (200-level) options in the subjects listed below.
