To become a member of a surgical setting’s anesthesia team, you will learn the theoretical concepts and clinical applications in MATC’s on-campus surgical suite. Then you will be assigned to hospitals as part of the clinical phase. Program graduates will be eligible to take the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) certification exam to become a Certified Anesthesia Technologist (CerATT).

Career Outlook: Anticipated growth in demand for anesthesia technologists is attributed to the increasing geriatric population and the healthcare industry’s need for medical support personnel. 

Career Pathway: Under development for 2016-17 – Earn the Healthcare Customer Service certificate on your way to completing this degree.

A criterion considered in the petition process is verification of student residency. Students selected via the petition process are chosen based on MATC district residency, then Wisconsin nondistrict residency, followed by nonresidents, unless otherwise stated. 

Special Admission Requirements: One year of high school-level biology, chemistry and algebra.
