The Milwaukee Area Technical College Foundation, Inc. plays an increasingly important role in the development and success of MATC students and the community.
Over two-thirds of MATC students receive financial aid, scholarships and/or grants. Without this assistance, many MATC students would not be able to afford to continue their education. Here's the impact scholarships have had on some our students:
This scholarship means a lot to me, because I have experienced some difficulties in school over the last year. Earlier this year I received the MATC DreamKeepers emergency scholarship because my house had an electrical fire. I have stayed in school, but it has been tremendously difficult. I am grateful to MATC for this scholarship, because it will allow me more time and energy to focus on my schoolwork. It will also help me through the financial struggle of completing school. I sincerely appreciate this scholarship. I want the donors of this scholarship to know that I am eternally grateful for their blessing.
This scholarship means one more opportunity for me to achieve my career goals. My financial situation is not the best. My husband stopped working 5 years ago due to illness and I stopped working last year to start school. My part time job is not sufficient for me to keep-up with school and raise two children. Any additional help from people, scholarships, and grants are fundamental to my success. I truly appreciate all of the generosity donors have for this school and I hope to someday return to help the new generations.
Gifts In Kind
Donated equipment and services lend vital support to teaching, learning and research in every training program at MATC. Employers and the college have a compelling mutual interest in exposing students to industry-standard technology. In-kind giving makes that possible and allows us to remain relevant as a technical college. In-kind donations also offer tax benefits to donors. For more information on how you can make a difference through an in-kind gift, call the Foundation at 414-297-7997.
Donors who wish to create a scholarship fund are encouraged to participate in the Build-A-Fund Program. This gift program allows donors to build their scholarship fund to the required minimum level of $3,000 over a three year time period. Donors who wish to establish an endowment fund are given three years to reach the $3,000 minimum fund balance.
