AODA Substance Abuse Counselor

The AODA Substance Abuse Counselor certificate provides students with the classroom education and training required for substance abuse counselors in Wisconsin. The program consists of courses in the areas of assessment, professional responsibilities, education, case management and counseling. Courses can be used for continuing education credits.
This 360-hour program provides you with all the education hours needed for state certification as a substance abuse counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Additional supervised work experience (about 3,500 hours), additional written examinations (general issues and ethics), and an application portfolio must also be completed for state certification as a substance abuse counselor.
