Tool and Die Technical Diploma
Starting January 2008

Two-semester, 32-credit program prepares you for many branches of tool and die making. Possible careers include mold making, stamping die making, tool room machining, jig and fixture building and precision machining. Demand currently is strong for skilled metalworkers. Graduates often are selected for trade apprenticeships.

Courses Taught at ECAM:

TDMKG-365, CNC Programming 1 (1 credit)
- Introduces the techniques necessary for proper manual computerized numerical control programming for tool and die making. Prerequisites: TDMKG-308 and TDMKG-309.

TDMKG-366, CNC Programming 2 (1 credit)
- Instructs students in the techniques of proper construction and transmission of a computerized numerical control program via computer-aided graphics. Prerequisite: TDMKG-365.

TDMKG-367, Basic CAD/CAM (1 credit)
- Introduces you to the basic components of a CAD/CAM system. Using CAD, learn to draw, edit, layer and manage drawings. Also learn about CAD and CAM interfaces, file transfer and tool path creation. Prerequisites: TDMKG- 365 and TDMKG-366.
