Grants and Resource Development

The mission of the Department of Grants and Development is to act as the clearinghouse for the acquisition and monitoring of all external funding from government, public and private entities; and, to secure available resources that are aligned with MATC's Strategic Goals, Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP) and Core Abilities to support College initiatives.

 

Services Available

  • Acts as the College's official contact with local, state, federal, miscellaneous friendly agencies
  • Provides forecast of grant opportunities & link needs with funding sources
  • Determines that opportunities align with MATC's Strategic Plan
  • Interprets guidelines
  • Recommends internal/external partners
  • Collaborates with partners to write proposals
  • Submits all electronic and paper grant proposals, revisions and reports
  • Conducts face-to- face meetings to discuss all new proposals, awards, revisions, concerns
  • Provides project management and/or support services
  • Monitors status of grant projects; report award results
  • Administers subgrant agreements and contracts
  • Authorizes letters of support to accompany funding proposals that involve the College
  • Notifies Public Relations of grant awards
  • Provides professional development on grant writing and grants management
  • Participates in Academic, Administrative, Student Services Divisional Staff and Advisory Meetings
