Program Learning Outcomes Assessment

Program Learning Outcomes Assessment

To assure effective development and consistent delivery of institutional-level, program-level and course-level student learning outcomes, MATC uses the Plan-Do-Check-Adjust (PDCA) continuous quality improvement cycle.

By regularly reviewing and discussing evidence of student learning, faculty identify a specific opportunity to improve outcomes, choose a new strategy and plan a way to test the improvement.
Based on a defined strategy, faculty adjust instruction and support for student skill development.
Analysis of assessment results informs faculty continuous improvement discussions and decisions aimed toward strengthening student learning.
Based on evidence of student success with achieving learning outcomes, faculty commit to practices contributing positively or take appropriate action in areas of opportunity.
