Institutional Learning Outcomes

Institutional learning outcomes are known as Career Essentials. They represent goals for the skills, knowledge, habits and attitudes all students will learn and demonstrate by graduation, workforce entry or transfer. Faculty create lessons and assignments that cultivate development and reinforcement of Career Essentials in each class. Advisors for clubs and organizations also use Career Essentials to connect co-curricular activities to academic and workplace success.

Career Essentials

  • Effective Communication in Writing
  • Effective Communication through Speaking and Listening
  • Effective Problem Solving
  • Global Awareness
  • Mathematical Competency
  • Professionalism

Faculty may access Career Essentials assessment data for each semester via myMATC.
