What types of financial aid are available?

Financial aid consists of grants, scholarships, loans and work study.

Grants and scholarships are donated through the generosity of businesses, corporations and individuals, and are earmarked for college expenses to qualified students in selected programs. Grants and scholarships are not repaid. For most grants and scholarships, students must be enrolled in an associate degree or technical diploma program and maintain a good grade-point average. For more information, go to Financial Aid.

Student loans need to be repaid with interest. MATC participates in the federal Stafford Student Loan program. Students are counseled by MATC Financial Aid staff about loan guidelines and repayments. Generally, students do not need to begin repaying their student loan until after:

  • Graduation (within a defined timeframe)
  • The student drops below six college credits
  • The student leaves college
