A browser is an application program that provides a way to look at and interact with online information.

Recommended operating systems:

• Windows 2000 or Windows XP
• Mac Operating System 10.3

Recommended Internet browsers:

• On Windows machines: Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher or Netscape 7.1 or higher
• On Macintosh machines: Netscape 7.1 or higher or Safari

Using Firefox may cause problems in the WYSIWYG editor but works in most other areas of Blackboard.

Faculty: Safari may have problems with the Equation Editor.
