The Helen Bader Foundation, Inc., has awarded a two-year $80,000 grant to the Milwaukee Area Technical College Foundation, Inc., for Phase III of the 21st Century Urban Technical Education Project.

Grant funds will allow expansion of a high school career planning and scholarship program for 80 qualified low- and middle-income students who intend to pursue post-secondary technical education programs at MATC. This program will be piloted at three Milwaukee Public Schools (Bradley Tech, South Division and Pulaski High Schools). A joint venture of the National Science Foundation, MATC, MPS and the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the 21st Century Project is dedicated to helping transition students into technology careers.
